I had such a fantastic experience with Big Bus Paddle Sports. The team gives great instruction for people of all skill levels, are social and communicative individuals, and provide ample safety tools if it were ever necessary. I would recommend this business to anyone looking to enjoy a fun day on the water! Thank you for a wonderful time!

Doug is such a great instructor! He makes paddleboarding feel easy to learn, breaking things down in a way that’s clear and calm. He’s patient, funny, and really takes the time to make sure everyone feels comfortable and confident on the water. I also appreciated his obvious passion—it made the class even more enjoyable. I left not just with skills and knowledge, but with the excitement to make SUP a regular hobby. I love that he offers a sponsorship program that provides free classes to support the Black community’s mental health. For just $45, you can sponsor a paddler and give someone the chance to experience the peace of being out on the water. If you’ve ever thought about trying SUP, I can’t recommend Doug’s classes enough. And if you’d like to pay it forward in honor of Juneteenth, check out their website to sponsor a class.

Excellent, recommended 10/10. Doug makes everyone feel relaxed and ready to paddle out in Tacoma's Commencement Bay with easy instructions and guidance.

We were in Tacoma in over Labor Day and were looking to get out on water under our own power when we found BBPS. Doug, the proprietor, is personable, knowledgeable, and a great advocate for taking care of the ocean environment. The boards we rented were well-maintained and we had a terrific time out on the water. We plan on being in Tacoma again and we will absolutely return to BBPS.
